MONICA (Outside house talking to Jack)
Hi, I’m Monica. It’s okay. Okay, okay. You’re probably wondering why I’m in your yard at four in the morning. And that’s a completely fair question. You know, John. Your friend, John. Well he’s my friend to, and he wanted us to get together and meet, ya know. It’s for tomorrow, and I’ve been thinking about it a lot. You know John, he’s an okay kind of guy, and he’s got good intentions, but that first meeting can be kind of awkward. So I thought it might be okay if I came over and got it out of the way right now. Kind of a dry run, ya know?
It’s okay. It’s okay. Maybe I shouldn’t have come by. I was just trying to make it less awkward, you know. Ask John. He’ll tell you I’m an okay kind of person…actually it’s not okay. Okay is one of those words you use when you don’t want to bother describing someone, like it’s off the back of the hand. Like it’s doesn’t even matter.
See some of my friends are good artists. Some are great artists. Me, I’m just kind of okay. Okay, okay. I’m leaving, already. But you just ask John. You ask him, “Do you know, Monica?” He’ll say, “Yeah, I know Monica. She’s okay.”
